Blog 2 - Mission 1 - PRODUCT --->

Mission 1 is based all on creativity.

We are doing our presentation on Adaptations, Mashups and Remixes. We have already met up twice already and are working well together on our mission for this module intro to digital media.

THE CREATION OF MY PRESENTATION -

• We have been working on powerpoint to create our presentation.
• It actually took us quite a while to research about each of the topics.
• We started off by looking at the history of adaptations, the mashups and finally remixes.

• Then we looked up online all about authorship and copyright, it was very interesting to see what they meant as I actually did not know before I researched them.
• Then we used garage band to create our remix.

CREATION OF THE PRODUCT -

Our product for this mission was creating our own remix, adaptation or mashups.

We decided to create a remix, a remix is two songs that are blended together to make a new song.

We found that when making a remix what works best was a instrumental song and a song with lyrics for a remix, as if it was 2 songs that both had voices in it then they would overlap too much and would not sound very well.

When we were going about our remix and the  making of it we actually found it quite difficult to find two songs that would go well together and create a good mashup.

Alex is a dancer so I trusted her opinions on the music ahha and let her choose the songs, she choose a song by J Cole and another song called, "With You"

Both songs actually ended up working really well together, and I found garage band on my MacBook very very easy to use. I had never used it before but found it very good and quick to complete the remix. 

I also added in a synthesiser at the Start which went from quiet to loud. It just added something different and added a little bit of effect to the start of our remix.


I actually found it quite fun researching and creating the remix itself. I got to develop many skills including teamwork, digital skills and music skills.

I am enjoying working on this mission, and am nervous but excited to present this next week to our class in our lab with Alex.
